Tommy pitched four years of Division II NCAA baseball at Fort Hays State University, where he was All-Conference and Academic All-Conference three years, All-West Region in 2006, and Freshman of the Year in 2004. He is the record holder for career appearances and is in the Top 10 All-Time in several major statistical categories including wins, strikeouts, and BB/9 IP.

He played summer ball in Kansas City, Fayetteville, NC, and Duluth, MN.
He played two seasons for the Duluth Huskies of the Northwoods League and was the winning pitcher of the 2005 All-Star Game. He is the franchise record holder for career appearances.

Currently located in Kansas City, he gets to see many up and coming prospects before they get called up to other Major Leauge teams. As a lifelong Cubs fan he can provide special insight into their next huge, embarrassing failure.
